Shonda

 Shonda Rhimes is an American director and writer. She is also an author and producer who has an estimated worth of $140 million. Her most notable achievements include being the creator, executive producers and head writer for the television shows "Scandal," Grey's Anatomy as well as Private Practice. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, on the 13th of January, 1970. She is the youngest of six children. Shonda attended Marian Catholic High School. While in high school she served as hospital volunteers which sparked an interest in hospitals. Dartmouth College was where she did her film studies. Shonda graduated with a BA degree in 1991. Following her undergrad, Shonda moved to San Francisco to work at an advertising agency. Shonda then moved to Los Angeles in order to enroll in the MFA Program at the USC School of Cinematic Arts. She focused on screenwriting and was among the top in her USC class. After having graduated from USC she was a unemployed screenwriter in Hollywood. She worked on the documentary "Hank Aaron: Chasing the Dream," which won the Peabody Award in 1995.
