Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson - born Jacqueline Luesby to Chris Watson and Jacqueline Luesby, two British lawyers - was born the 8th of July, 1989 in Paris. At the age of five when she left for Oxfordshire and enrolled in her first Dragon School. Emma decided to be an actor by the age of six. Through the years she was enrolled in the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. There she learned singing dance, acting and singing. She had already performed in numerous Stagecoach as well as school plays when she turned ten. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the movie adaptation of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British book was cast in the year 1999. Emma was found by casting agents through Emma's Oxford theater teacher. David Heyman informed Emma, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint after 8 auditions. They were chosen to play three leads Hermione Gringer Harry Potter Ron Weasley. The film's release Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's debut on the screen in cinema. The film beat all previous records for its opening and weekend ticket revenues, and was the highest-grossing film of 2001. The film was praised by critics, as were the performances of its three young actors. The Daily Telegraph, a popular British paper, praised her for her exceptional performance. Emma received five awards in recognition of her work in the movie.
