 The small town of Boca Chica, Texas is home to just 26 residents (as of 2000 at least). The town is just few miles from the Rio Grande River's mouth. It is situated just 20 miles east from Brownsville, Texas and not far from the Gulf Coast. The town was founded in the 1960s. the town's tranquility is threatened by destruction at the hands billionaire Elon Musk. SpaceX founder Elon Musk bought the land in Boca Chica in 2015. He began purchasing homes which were abandoned. Why? Why? Although he has bought most of the town's properties, ten steadfast residents have refused to sell their homes to Musk. The Starship-Super Heavy program is located in the town of just a few residents. The rocket, which stands 394 feet tall, can drastically reduce costs of space travel and make it more affordable. The rocket's future is in jeopardy in the event that the remaining 10 people in Boca chica, the majority of whom are retired and/or elderly continue to refuse to sell to Musk.SpaceX attempted to purchase the entire town in September 2019. At the time, the company claimed it offered buyers three times the value of their homes.
