Spencer

Spencer Michael Rattler (born September 28th in 2000) is an American football quarterback who plays for the NCAA football team of South Carolina. Rattler started his college career at Oklahoma and transferred to South Carolina in 2021. Lincoln Riley announced on September 1 that Rattler was chosen to start the season as the quarterback instead of Mordecai. Rattler made his debut against Missouri State on September 12. Rattler beat the Oklahoma record of eight touchdown passes in just two weeks on September 26. This was set by Sam Bradford back in 2008. Rattler's debut was not an easy one. The Sooners lost to Kansas State in Rattler's second attempt. In his third game, Rattler threw for 300 yards and scored two touchdowns in the defeat at Iowa State. The loss ended an unbeaten streak that saw Iowa State lose 24 consecutive home games to Oklahoma. Rattler and the Sooners have ended the string of 24 consecutive home defeats by Iowa State to Oklahoma with the victory against Texas in Red River Rivalry. Rattler had been a participant in the second quarter of the Semi-Finals of the College Football Playoff against LSU. He played in a total of three games during the 2019 season.
