Megan Jovon Ruth Pete (born February 15, 1995) is professionally known as Megan Thee Stallion (pronounced "Megan the Stallion") is an American rapper. Her birthplace is Houston, Texas, she first garnered attention when videos of her freestyling began to become popular on social media sites like Instagram. Megan Thee Stallion was signed to 300 Entertainment in 2018. She released the mixtape Fever (1999) as well as the extended-play Suga (2020), which both climbed to the top 10 on the Billboard 200. Her debut studio album Good News (2020), received a rousing critical response. The remix to "Savage" that she co-wrote alongside Beyonce, and her appearance on Cardi B’s "WAP" which was her first top-ten single in many other countries as well as on the Billboard Global 200 charts, she was awarded the first and second No. 1 singles on US Billboard Hot 100. In 2021 she was featured alongside Doja Cat on the remix to Ariana Grande's single for 2020 "34+35" which climbed to second place on the Billboard Hot 100. It was followed by her debut compilation album, Something for Thee Hotties (2021), which climbed to the top ten of the Billboard 200 and produced the single "Thot Shit".
